PHASE 2 PHONICS TRACING FLASHCARDS

Phonics is a method of learning to read and write by matching sounds to individual letters or groups of letters. These can then be blended together to help with decoding words by sounding them out.

Children often learn the ‘SATPIN’ words first - learning the letter sounds S,A,T,P,I,N. Once these letter sounds have be learnt children can move on to blend them to spell simple words such as s/a/t —> sat and p/a/n —> pan.

This set of flashcards includes all 23 sounds that are taught as part of ‘phase 2’ phonics. On one side of the card is the letter or letters used to make the sound, and on the reverse is a set of related activities to allow your child to trace the letter(s), circle the picture with the matching sounds and write the letter(s) for themself.

Each set of flashcards come with a dry wipe pen included and the choice of either a gift box or binding ring.
